Mothers Against Police Brutality (MAPB) stands at the forefront of advocacy efforts, uniting Mothers nationwide to fight for civil rights, police accountability, and policy reform. We are committed to being the voice for justice, working with victims of police brutality and deadly force, striving to bring about systemic change in law enforcement. MAPB works on various fronts:

  • raising awareness about the disproportionate impact of police killings of African American and Hispanic people;
  • challenging existing laws and practices that leave families vulnerable to police brutality;
  • promoting Congressional legislation on use of force and qualified immunity;
  • urging the Justice Department to intervene when local police departments show patterns of excessive force, over-policing, or racial profiling.

MAPB also works at the international level. Our founder, Collette Flanagan, has testified before the United Nations Human Rights Council, and other forums, emphasizing the need for racial justice and human rights in law enforcement.
